Dear Training Committee Members:
Thank you for making the Victim Advocates Training Program
available to me.
I did not fully appreciate, when the training began several
weeks ago, that it would have such a positive and empowering
influence in my life. I now look at my relationships, and
the relationships of those around me, in a new light.
The time we spent in class, albeit difficult at times, was
especially rewarding. It offered me the opportunity to connect
with other individuals that share a passion for social justice, as
well as making some new acquaintances, and hopefully friends.
The most energizing and positive aspect of the training was
when the classes were facilitated by members of the Training
Committee. Your straight talk and the fact that you did not
beat around the bush on sensitive issues was refreshing and
necessary. Your honesty and "humanness" reassured me
that although being an advocate may not be easy, the Women's
Coalition is there as a support for us. I am proud to be a part of
that.
