The Womens Coalition needs your help and support to rebuild and recover from the devastating fire at our crisis center/headquarters.

Over 200 of you joined us to walk with your family and friends in support and in silence, bearing lights and wearing purple or t-shirts adorned with images and messages of love in honor of your lost loved ones. Thank you for gathering for our annual silent march and for showing your support for an end violence on our islands at our rally honoring victims who lost their lives to domestic violence over 30 years in the territory. Special thank you to our volunteer victim advocates, who continue to offer support to victims when they need it most, 24/7/365.

19th Annual Tennis Tourney

The 19th Annual Women’s Coalition Tennis Classic was held April 13th-17th at The Buccaneer Hotel on St. Croix. Sixty-three players competed in seven events over a five-day period. The event was a huge success! Special thanks to HH Tire & Battery for supplying the tennis balls and for their generous support over the years. Thanks to all the Sponsors, tennis players, tennis fans, Don deWilde, The Buccaneer Hotel, the Tennis Classic Committee, volunteers, and all our supporters. We couldn’t do it without them!

Mixed A Doubles

Susan Armstrong and Christian Nelthropp defeated Erika Scott and Greg James, 6-4, 6-3. Armstrong and Nelthropp did not lose a set throughout the event. Congratulations Susan and Christian!

Mixed B Doubles

Max MacIntosh and Natalie Nelson won by default over Aimee Bellmore and Jeff Condit.

Women’s A Doubles

Susan Armstrong and Erika Scott defeated Fenella Cooper and Hattie Grimsley, 7-5, 6-2. This was Susan’s second title of the day. Congratulations, Susan!

Women’s B Doubles

Jackie Holt and Patty Hensley defeated Hilda Elva and Winona Lester, 6-0, 6-0. Elva and Lester survived two 3-set matches to reach the finals.

Men’s A Doubles

Kris Elien and George Newton defeated Hermit Bannis and Alex Elizee, 6-3, 6-3, in a hard-hitting match that drew the largest crowd.

Men’s B Doubles

Al Baptiste and Caleb Phelps defeated Jabari Peter and Nicholas Cromwell, 6-2, 6-1.

Men’s Doubles 50 and Over

Local tennis pros Don deWilde and Stan Myrie-G defeated Melbourne Adams and Joel Mahepath,
6-0, 6-1.
